#engage_and_connect

We are delighted to announce our new programme of online #engage_and_connect sessions for the 2021/2022 academic year.

Welcoming inspiring guests from across a diverse range of topics and specialisms, this programme offers something for everyone within your staff team. From “Reaching the Invisible Children” with Jean Gross to “Mental Fitness: a brain – body connected approach” with Bernard Allen, every #engage_and_connect session will provide an invaluable opportunity to explore subjects that impact on our day to day work and will contribute to our professional development through a greater appreciation and deeper understanding of such subjects.

All sessions will take place on Thursday evenings at 5pm and are free to attend for members of engage in their future. For non-member schools, a fee of £50 will be charged (for an unlimited number of attendees within your school staff team).

New sessions will be added to the #engage_and_connect programme throughout the year but the confirmed sessions so far are:

  • Thursday 17th March 2022, 5pm: Whole School Trauma Reducing Approaches with Sharon Gray OBE
  • Thursday 31st March 2022, 5pm: The Personality Exchange – Negotiated Learning with Richard Boyle
  • TBC 2022, 5pm: Empowering our TAs and Support Staff to be Leaders in Our Schools with New Horizons Learning Centre
  • Thursday 12th May 2022, 5pm with the William Henry Smith School

About #engage_and_connect

#engage_and_connect was started in May 2020 to support engage in their future members and colleagues across SEMH education as they faced the unprecedented challenges and pressures of the Covid-19 pandemic. The supportive and accessible sessions helped to keep everyone connected as well as provide informative, relevant content from experienced, knowledgeable guests.

Although circumstances continue to evolve and some sense of normality has returned, the need for support and connection remains, as does demand for relevant, useful advice and resources available from an easily accessible platform.
